Our Mission
Empowering Experiential Learning
Our Story
By Learners, For Learners
VirtU began with a simple conversation between founders Katherine Guevara and Camden Montgomery after a long day in the chemistry lab. Frustrated by the fact that the only way to prepare for upcoming experiments was to reread a procedure sheet, Katherine wished there were a way to actually experience the laboratory before stepping into it.
When they searched for existing virtual laboratory software, they found plenty of simulations—but none that could recreate the specific procedures, equipment, and workflow of her own laboratory. That led to a simple question: what if educators could build and share immersive laboratory experiences instead of relying on a fixed catalog of experiments?
What began as an idea for a more personalized chemistry lab quickly evolved into a much larger vision. Today, PROCLABS is the first step toward VirtU's mission of empowering creators to build and share immersive educational experiences, making hands-on learning more accessible for everyone.

Our Commitment
Better Together
At VirtU, we're committed to building more than educational software—we're building a platform that empowers creators to shape the future of learning. We'll continue investing in intuitive tools, immersive technology, and a collaborative community, ensuring the people who know a subject best have the freedom to create, share, and inspire the next generation of learners.

Meet The Team

VIRTU Immersive was selected as one of 30 semifinalists out of more than 300 teams in the America250 Startup Competition, a national initiative recognizing startups shaping the future of innovation in America’s 250th anniversary year. As part of this opportunity, we were invited to meet with Tim Draper in San Francisco to share our vision for immersive, hands-on education.
This recognition validated our mission and helped accelerate our development, allowing us to reinvest directly into building and improving our platform.
We continue to work tirelessly on building the next generation of hands-on learning experiences.
